Strange. I've only heard it pronounced with a [s]. [klouz] is a verb
(to shut) while [klous] is an adjective (near), and I've always heard
them distinguished in this manner. Listen [klousli] next time someone
says both words ;) (Or look it up in the dictionary.)
Cheers,
Philip
