    Why not "wuwnd" for an injury and "waund" for the past tense of "wind"?
Then "waand" for "wand", "wind" for "wind (breeze)", "waynd" for "wind
(around)", "wend" for "wend", "wiynd" for "weened"...  And as far as I know,
"hiccup" is pretty standard.  Most people I know see "hiccough" and say
[hIk_hAf] (Note: Not meant to start a "I pronounce that this way" thread;
just showing that they pronounce the "cough" like "cough", not like "cup".)
