Exactly! I think this is the closest phonologically possible match.
Unless you try to render the palatalized [g'] in -gen- as [gj], which
IMO is unnecessary.
Note, however, that atonic [E] is very narrow and short, so I suspect
an English speaker may hear short [I] here. The stressed [E] between two
palatalized sounds is also narrow, but rather long, so you'd probably
perceive it as the vowel in *gain*. But I'm not sure.
