Actually, it's supposedly from French, English, Irish, or general Gaelic.
The French meaning is supposed to mean "lives at the barrier", the English
and Irish meanings are "Fair haired" (Which I do not have), and the Gaelic
meaning is "marksman".

Yes, pretty much. Tagalog will allow practically any word into the
language and keep their spellings as they are, but these are only foreign
names (unless the borrowed word fits Tagalog orthography). Any other
borrowed word gets changed to fit the orthography of Tagalog to reflect
the phonology of the language. Tagalog is fairly flexible when it comes to
consonant clusters.

Well, it's more Americanized. I've never heard relatives refer to their
middle names as one of their last names (which is what it is in Spanish).
IIRC, the Spanish system puts the patronymic after the first name, and
then the matronymic after that.
