Here's my revision of Somebody's revision of Somebody Else's translation:

        I got mixed up with a shyster with a tongue-twister of a name
        and he had a hissy fit and minced no words with me.

Just for fun, I ran it through the Babelfish (http://babelfish.altavista.com).
It did a bit better than I expected, recognizing "avocat marron" as "crooked
lawyer" rather than "brown avocado", and "nom à coucher dehors" as
"unpronounceable name" rather than the literal "name to sleep outside".
