1) In my first major conlang, natece atechana, usually natece for short, the
name means "holy language" because it was invented as a sacred language.
Originally, all words
in the language derived from the letters nhatlec, which was the name for God.
2) In my second major conlang, Meridonian (native form Mer'donyan) the name
derives from the name of the country, Meridonia, and that name existed before
the language did,
as the country was created for rpg purposes before I developed the language.
This was oneof a set of Latinate names for a Hyborian-style (Conan) world and
intended to parallel
some of the names in the Hyborian world e.g. Aquilonia.
3) In my third major conlang, Rihana-ye, the name (Coldlandish)again derives
from the name of a country, Rihana, meaning Coldland (because it was
experiencing severe glaciation at the time). The word elements (ri cold, ha thing, na
earth) came from the basic set of monosyllabic root words from which the
entire language has been constructed.
