It's not official, but as the de facto standard, it warrants a
mention. Something like this, maybe?
If there can be said to be an official conlanger system for
transcribing speech sounds, it is the same as the standard
among linguists in general: the International Phonetic Alphabet,
or IPA. However, the IPA includes many symbols that are
not available in many email systems; some of them aren't
even available in Unicode. Therefore several all-ASCII
transcription systems have emerged; see the conlanglinks.tk
page for links to descriptions of them.
If a message sent to the list includes phonetic transcription
and doesn't indicate the system being used, chances are it's
either X-SAMPA or the "Conlang modified" version thereof
(labeled CXS on the conlanglinks.tk page).
