I took a look at metafont and I think it might be way
overkill for what I need.
I wrote a Paintshop Pro plug-in in an hour that did
exactly what I want and the new glyphs are gorgeous,
if I do say so myself. So I'm going to replace all
the images on my web page with new glyphs tomorrow
(Saturday).
