Literacy in conscripts?

I was writing some things out in the Saalangal script (to be officially
named), and i got to wondering, for those of you who have constructed
scripts to go with your languages, how literate are you in writing that
script?

With me, It took me only a few days of practice to really get most of the
Tilon Nevo (which is under a revision) script memorized. I could write out
a lot of stuff in the script, but not really be able to read it all that
well.

I have started to learn the Saalangal script, and i'm going to add a few
more sounds to my personal version of it (the one for Saalangal itself
needs no changes or additions).
