Is _conlang_ now a recognized term for 'conlang' beyond this list?
If so, perhaps some FAQ or other should include some info about its
etymology. The following would be a start, based only on my recollection
and not on contemporaneous documents.
From 'conlang', the name of an electronic mailing list devoted to
the discussion of invented languages (1991-present). The name of the
list was created by John Ross, the first administrator of the Conlang
list, as a contraction of _Constructed Languages_, a term used by one of
the founder members of the list, Rick Harrison, in preference to the
thitherto more usual term _artificial languages_, which tended to be
associated specifically with International Auxiliary Languages
('auxlangs', q.v.).
corrections/additions/alterations welcome.
