Ideographic scripts aren't much more difficult to learn than alphabetic
scripts, at least in my experience. But I've never attempted to
learn Mayan... I have had equal ease in learning and reading in all
my finished conscripts - and learning Devanagari wasn't any more
difficult, either. That goes for reading and writing both. It's not
the script, but the spelling, that gave me grief when trying to learn
Tibetan - I never was sure of the right pronounciation.
