I rather liked the curved variant that was up immediately
before this, but I can understand why you want to go in
this direction.
No chance you've been reading Hofstadter's _Metamagical
Themas_? His "Letter Spirit" article uses a grid very
similar to your current Tinkerfont work. I saw it today
whilst doing the requisite bathroom reading.
