Well, my idea was having distinct /f/ and /v/, /S/ and /Z/ (I mean, fricatives contrasting
by voice). /y/ is precisely a French "u" as in "tu", and /tj/ would be a palatalized /t/, as
in Russian (transliterated <t'>)

/x/ is an unvoiced velar fricative. Like a Spanish "j" as in "jueves", or German
"ch" as in "Reich".

We could have /x/ with variants [x] and [h] if you (and the rest) are OK with
that. I've seen /x/ written
"kh" in some languages. The voiced version, "gh", is quite similar to the French
uvular "r" (I don't
know whether that's your dialect's "r").

/q/ is an unvoiced uvular stop, sort of /k/ but farther into the throat. The sound is produced near
the uvula (that fleshy blob that hangs in the back of your mouth).

The palatalized consonants are only an idea of mine -- we could certainly leave them out.
But I don't think it should be difficult to pronounce them initially. We'll see. What do
