As always, Laurie, I love the simile of conlanging and painting! Yes,
you are absolutely right... one can be interested in basic technique
but also in the end product. And yes, painters do come back to their
paintings as many of us do to our languages. I've been painting Teonaht
for years now, and what keeps me going is the mature product. It is
still so far off.
