My book on the tsars spends almost 16 pages on Peter I's time in the
Netherlands.  That, and his little boy army that sort of turned into the
pride of Russia's military (with the help of Dutch and other European
technical advisors)... anyway, he was apparently the first tsar to think of
using boats (at least that's how the book put it), and it was all thanks to
the Dutch.  ^_^
