Orcs *are* elves, or at least so the Elves believe: descendants of the
ones that Morgoth caught and warped to his purposes.

"Arda" is the Quenya name for the Earth, this planet.  The Elves'
creation myth is a myth, but it is also the truth: they got it
straight from the Valar, who were actually there at Creation.
