In fact, the verb 'plaire' is simply the exact equivalent of 'gustar':
Ca me plaît: (Esto) me gusta.
That's why it's not that difficult for French people to learn how to use
'gustar', as soon as a good teacher gave us the equivalent (I didn't have
that unfortunately, so I had to come up myself with the equivalent).
