I've browsed through the installation notes of Debian, and it seems that lilo
is always installed, or at least that its installation is proposed during the
installation of Debian (which they say: "they could teach it to a
chicken" :)) . Indeed, the installation itself doesn't seem to be a problem,
it's all the requirements before that seem a bit frightening :)) ). So it
shouldn't be a problem. And it seems that Linux can boot wherever its position
anyway, so I guess putting it on a slave drive won't create a problem (I've
never really understood what slave vs. master meant anyway :)) ).
