<rant> Some radio stations with a supposedly young audience also seem to
prefer to use "Du" [sic!] when addressing all their hearers, e.g. "Hier ist
[Name], dein Lieblingsradiosender. Schalte auch morgen wieder ein bla bla".
It grates my ears from the semantical point of view: addressing a *group*
with a *singular* pronouns is just wrong wrong wrong. Of course, the reason
is that this is *your* radio station that plays *your* favourite music. No
thanks, that's too much faked individualism for me. It's OK to use the
intimate pronouns when addressing the hearers in their entirity, but in this
case the only way to go is to use "Ihr". </rant>
