Interesting. I say:
[be:jd] [b&:d]
[bE:d]/[bI:d] [bA:rd] (some words like "bed" vary between [E] and [I]
in my speach - I think there may be a mid-way vowel, actually, most of
the time it sounds like neither /E/ nor /I/)
[bI:d] [bir=d]
[tUk] [tAlk]
[hVt] [hr=t]
[pU:l~] [pu:l~]

Not [fI:z]?
