Indeed!!!! Lovely! In Maggel those would be probably (you know how predictable
Maggel orthography is ;))) ) |hgl| and |hghl|.
Clusters in Maggel are extremely free too. The only big restrictions are on
voice (there is voice assimilation) and the PoA of nasals (which tends to
assimilate with the surrounding consonants). Let's see what freaky (and less
freaky) things I have until now ;))) :
- initial [L\]: |hluoifais| ['L\u:v&z]: gifts.
- inital [mb]: |imuohf| ['mbu:]: cows.
- initial [bK\]: |bltafj| ['bk\Ev]: weird, strange (often appears as [DK\] when
the adjective preceeds a noun ;)))) ).
- initial [fp]: |f ibaodhoir| ['fpa:x]: among (appears as [fT] when the
composite preposition is followed by a noun).
- initial [zn]: |snah| ['znaI]: two (often appears as [4n]!).
- initial [kN]: |ignuil| ['kNur]: ten.
- initial [Gb]: |a hjbone| [@ 'GboUn]: eight.
- initial [Gv]: |a hdhmuhoir| [@ 'Gvi:Yz]: four hundred.
- initial [mbr]: |a mile| [@ 'mbreId]: last.
- initial [lp]: |libaejmeo| [lpe'Ne:]: one by one.
- initial [bdr]: |bdrujmeo| [bdrU'Ne:]: two by two.
- initial [TM\]: |thgegeo| [TM\@'ge:]: three by three.
- initial [tx]: |idrogeo| [txV'ge:]: four by four.
- initial [nr]: |niluigeo| [nrU'ge:]: ten by ten.
- initial [gdv]: |gdhmigseo| [gdv@'ze:]: four hundred by four hundred.
I also have nice clusters which didn't show up in words yet by are present for
sure like [sC] or [zj\] :))) .
OK, nothing very Caucasian, but that's not the point of it ;))) .
Christophe.
