Good - and good to learn that John Cowan is OK.
Indeed, I earnestly hope & pray that everyone on this list is OK. But as we
have so many from the US here, it is unlikely that no one at least is
unaffected by some loss of family or friend.
After just over three weeks absence from this list, I was looking forward
to getting back into Conlang. But I just can't focus on it now.
Those of my generation (I was born the same year WWII broke out here in
Europe) are only too well aware of the debt of gratitude the European
democracies owe our American friends, especially during those years of
austerity after the war as we faced the real threat of communist expansion.
I am utterly loss for words to describe how I felt as the news from America
unfolded. I should just like to express my my sorrow, my sympathies &
condolescences to all the many US conlangers on this list.
Ray.
