Yes. If I were to follow my "Master Plan", Lat. |septem| would become *|siec|, which is far too similar to |siecz| "6". Too make it easier for themselves, the early Veneds (or Venedians, I'm not sure about that yet) adopted their own Polish word for it, |siedem|. The ending -em was later extended to "8" as well. And the /s'/? Well, frankly because I just didn't like *|ociem| or *|ocem|, which would be dictated by my Master Plan. Sometimes a conlanger is entitled to certain liberties respecting his own language, isn't he? :) By the way, I still have problems to decide whether or not to keep the nasals. On the one hand, if my language is to become what Polish would have looked like if it were a Romance language, their would be no reason to kick them out. On the other hand, the language becomes very similar too Polish, and, strange enough, to French. So, Andrew, please answer one counter-question: in how close is Brithenig to Welsh?
