Not in my experience.

You're lucky, because I've used 98SE myself, and I never could get it to work
more than 2 hours consecutively. It crashed automatically afterwards (and the
computer I used had been checked thoroughly and worked perfectly, without
virus, hardware problems or anything. It really was the OS which was in
trouble). I *never* got ME to crash like that (really, I've even managed to get
it to carry on working perfectly for days without any problem).
I guess the variation in stability of Windows is quite big. But in my
experience and the experience of all the people I know who have ME, it's much
more stable that 98SE, and when it does crash, it recovers very much better
from problems (I read a review from someone who never managed to get a scandisk
up to the end. I find that really strange, since even with my antivirus working
scandisk never takes more than 3 minutes on my 40GB hard drive).

In your experience maybe, but not at all in mine. So please don't generalise.

On that we agree.
