I think it's rather archaic. The only phrase in which I've come across
it is "Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall
cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh" -- from the King
James translation of the Bible (Genesis 2:24). But then, KJV language
is about 400 years old.
