IMHO Chomsky should be forbidden to write: he should find someone to
communicate his ideas to, viva voce (when he is invariably perfectly
lucid, by all reports including mine) and then write them down for
him and give them structure. (Kant shoulda had someone like this too.)
The most accessible Chomsky book, bar none, is _Understanding Power_
(okay, it's about politics, not linguistics), precisely because it is
composed of interviews.
