You mean Classical Latin?  The Church never "reformed" it.  Church Latin
is simply Medieval Latin, a more-or-less naturally evolved dialect of
Latin, in a Roman accent.

Do you use the <v/u> distinction?  It's interesting that <j> is often
not used in schools, but <u> is.
