I'm using Pine's built-in editor, which acts a lot like pico. On my office machine, I can type O-u, u to get u-diaresis (which seems to be standard for the Mac) but this is what happens at home for the same keystrokes: Ÿ. Also, there doesn't seem to be any guarantee that, even when I type O-u, u for u-diaresis at work, that that is what will show up when the message gets posted to CONLANG. I will definitely talk to the unix guru, but I don't think it will help at home. I'll see what they say. Thanks to all for your comments. Dirk -- Dirk Elzinga dirk.elzinga@m.cc.utah.edu
