Ugh.. here's where we differ!  /a/ is one of the most
annoying sounds I can think of - that's why it's so
prevalent in Vyh. for words associated with bad or
negative meanings).   I'm an /&/ guy, myself  ;-)

Wait a minute... /V/ refers to what in "month" -- the
o or the th or what?  Isn't /T/ the th of "month"?
