There have been whole books dedicated to humor.
While I tend to see it as culturally relative, I'm brought up short by the
fact that I myself love Chinese and Japanese humor, like most intellectual
humor from the USA, Canada & the UK, but do not even smile thinly at most
German, Spanish or French humor.
