Right enough. Furthermore, changing careers is not as much of a problem
as it used to be: most fields are starving for older people who have
demonstrated responsibility in their former field. So don't worry about being
trapped for life doing the Wrong Thing.

Um, this sounds a tad Lake-Wobegonish. Every major university has one
of the better departments?
