No, I don't think so, because it sounds horrible! ;-)
Presumably the inventor wanted a name that "rolled off the tongue" and was
memorable. Besides, he was at liberty to take whichever piece of the word he
wanted, and maybe he decided to take just the 'par' bit rather than the
'parv'!
