OT: gaelic translation help

hi,

i have a friend is fascinated by gaelic and wants to learn it, but doesn't
know it right now. still, he wants a tattoo of the phrase "his wounds, my
ransom" on his back (he's a christian). he asked me if i knew how to
translate it, since he knew i was somewhat linguistically inclined, but i
don't know gaelic.

i got some words from an online dictionary, of course, but didn't know what
constructions would be used to put them together and so forth.

is there by chance anyone who could translate that phrase for me? it'd be
much appreciated...
