Flame-bait? I assure you that was not the intention.
For the record, I do have two schwas in "America" - [@'mErIk@]. Actually, it may
be closer to [6'mErIk6], since I tend to lower schwas that correspond to written
'a'. Still higher than what I use for "short u", tho. I only spoke of the first
one because that was the one Hemmo used as an example.
