Gold-Sword sounds awfully familiar -- have you ever heard of the Greek
hero Chrysaor? I wouldn't be surprised if you hadn't - the only thing that
has reached our time about this "Gold-sword" is a line in Hesiod and a
portion of a frieze that was discovered by Kaiser Wilhelm on the island of
Corfu.
Apparently, Chrysaor was the son of Medusa and Poseidon, as well as the
brother of Pegasus. When Perseus decapitated Medusa, both Pegasus and
Chrysaor sprung forth - the latter armed to the tooth, grasping the sword
that gives him his name. Talk about being born with a silver spoon! How
about a gold sword?
I have a picture of Chrysaor somewhere, if you are interested. I'm
certain that it is the only one on the net.
