I once had the idea that it could be interesting to make up a very
schematic language --- simpler than a creole, but with non-typical
(non-Western) grammar and morphology --- and teach it to a class of
first graders as their 'secret code'. And then come back five and ten
years later to see what complexities had crept in through invention,
or more likely first language interference.
But I didn't do anything about it when I could have had the chance.
