A lot of ISPs will provide a few megabytes of space on their servers for
their customers. Check your ISPs website for info. I know Earthlink gives
all of its customers 4 MB or so. If you're currently enrolled at/employed
by a university, check with them -- that's where I put my web stuff. Either
of these routes would leave you with an address kinda like mine though (ex:
www.theirserver.com/~yourusername). It's not pretty but it's really no worse
than what you'd get at Geocities.
As for being computer (il)literate, HTML is really not that hard to learn.
Go to your favorite search engine (I like google) and search for "HTML
tutorial" or something similar. HTML only gets hard when you try to do
really complex layouts. You can do it with a simple text editor or there
are dozens of programs that'll help with the more technical stuff.
