FREE!!!
Ok, there is a freeware product called Ghostscript, with a windows
interface called Ghostview. It has been around for years, and most people
find it very reliable. The home page is here:
http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/
I have had a few issues with an older version of 7 only creating the
first page. I haven't tried 7.04 yet. The last build of 6 is available.
Essentially, in your word processor, print the document to a file,
as a .ps or .eps file. Start GhostView. Open the printer file. Do a
"Convert", and select "pdf".
It is not as good as Acrobat, but 7 does a clean job. (Version 6
sometimes has jagged edges on true type fonts.) It helps to set the DPI to
600. There are a few other options, such as compatibility level.
Hope it helps.
Mike

| Well, I've seen the prices of Adobe products. I just cannot
| buy them! It's all nice and everything but I cannot buy
| products that cost me half of my month salary!
