Thanks! Dependent morphology is a prevalent feature of Tokana.
Dependent forms are used for all kinds of embedded clauses.
Complement clauses:
Imeh iona etankia moke
to-me know that-you-go home
"I know that you are going home"
Relative clauses:
te loh etankia moke
the day that-you-go home
"the day when you go home"
Subject clauses:
Te etankia moke teusu oukutama
the that-you-go home very-much trouble-me
"That you are going home troubles me greatly"
Adverbial clauses:
Imeh kuopuhakia iteh ynai etankia moke
to-me speak-want-you to-it before that-you-go home
"I want to talk to you before you go home"
And so on. All in all, a useful device!
