right? The use of underscoring _is_ the commonly accepted norm. That dòesn't mean we have to do it that way, though! It's just a different way of doing it. Like this kind of smiley ^_^ v. this kind :) (I think the former is Japanese? It seems to be common from folks who until quite recently were known as Oriental, or Asian!) The other generally accepted means are using *stars* and SHOUTING VERY LOUDLY. Stars, of course, have taken on a very particular kind of emphasis in these lists and for the most part aren't used like the underscore by many.
