It made me chuckle when I wrote it, but i do think it is a valid
question. Maybe I should have phrased it "to what end" or "for what
purpose".
I could see some people keeping corpora for the purpose of seeing how
word uses changes over time, or for showing off a variety of
constructions, or for writing a dictionary around, or as a form of
journaling.
