Do you mean that these words are syllabified as peun-ag, swek-as and
dek-am? If so, that's rather odd. Intervocalic consonants are almost
always syllabified with the following vowel. English is unusual in that
(at least some dialects) will syllabify IV consonants with the preceding
vowel is stressed.
