<shnip>
interesting that Itakian lacks the verb 'to have'... other than 'to
be with' is there another word, concept, or phrase that expresses
possession..?
afmc:
narethanaal does have the verb 'to have'* but it is used as a
possessive but non-possession statement (if that makes sense)... i.e.
'i have a friend in pennsylvania' would mean that though he/she/it is
_my_ friend i do not own him/her/it... whereas if i were saying 'i
have brown eyes'... those are most assuredly my possessions (in
narethanaal anyway) so i would have to say that 'i possess brown
eyes'...
*there is also a verb 'to have' meaning to have (to do something)...
as for the adjective thing... there are some adjectives that only
exist as verbs in narethanaal e.g. 'to be wierd' (monki)... so once
the verb is made into the noun 'weirdness' (momonki) a person or
thing would have to possess weirdness... 'the weird girl' becomes
'the girl possessing wierdness'...
