Just like Sally said, it's sooooooo sexist! We're in the 21st century, so
unless your conlang is intended for a primitive culture, you should change
that eurocentric bias of "woman" being a derivative of "man". You,
prehistomacho! ;-)
My idea:
(WORD1) ! Noun ! Adjective ! Transitive verb ! Intrans. verb
========================================================================
Stative ! girl ! typic of girl ! to give birth to ! to grow up
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Active ! woman ! typic of woman ! to make a woman of ! to become a woman
========================================================================
(WORD2) ! Noun ! Adjective ! Transitive verb ! Intrans. verb
========================================================================
Stative ! boy ! typic of boy ! to give birth to ! to grow up
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Active ! man ! typic of man ! to make a man of ! to become a man
========================================================================
And probably an epicene word to avoid the other bias: "man" = "men & women".
(WORD3) ! Noun
=================...
Stative ! child
-----------------...
Active ! adult/person
=================...
This way, you have an opposition and a much better one IMHO that man/woman.
Just my 2 cents of the day,
