I rather think that's the _point_ of a rosary!
Though it's not meant to be boringly repetitive;
like chanting a mantra or similar, the
repetitive nature of the Catholic rosary is
inteneded to aid meditation or something other
than the actual prayer being recited. I don't do
it often, but found it helpful to recite in
Latin; or else in a fast, punctual English.

The Talarians have a rosary of twenty beads -
either 20 together or 4 sets of 4 with singles in
between. They're used to count mantras and other
prayers.
I made one in silver beads a while back.
