Actually, if the Canary Island collapse occurs, then it is not
inconceivable that Quebec would be affected by tsunamis.

Actually, no, they aren't. Tidal waves are caused by the gravitation
of the moon, while tsunamis are caused by seismic changes in the earth's
crust. And parts of Atlantic Canada are witness to the largest variations
in tidal changes on the planet.

Not so. Canada has been involved, in one way or another, with most
of the wars of the 20th century. Isolationism is actually truer of
the United States historically. Canada today is much more limited by
its lack of resources than by a putative lack of desire to interfere
in others' affairs. (IIRC, the only Western war it has *not* taken
part in recently is the current one in Iraq, though it did help out
in the first Iraq war.)

Yeah. It's rather naive to claim no violence will be involved. Such
claims are usually based on a rather idealistic view of human (or at
least in this case Quebecois) nature. I must say that I was surprised
to find that Quebecois could out-Texan Texans in braggadocio, but it
seems to have occurred.
