Do you think so? I'm using them with CM fonts and the result looks pretty nice
(better than Times New Roman with SIL IPA fonts on Word).

I find the result extremely readable. After all, you don't everyday mix
characters from CM and TIPA fonts. In my grammar of Astou, all the IPA
information is enclosed whether in // or in [], so it doesn't get mixed in the
normal text and the result looks pretty good and readable.
