I find the speed with which Google has become a verb
fascinating. This is not the first time I've seen this
on the list, in the last week.
I wonder if it arose because yahoo, alta vista,
excite, and so on, already had meanings. Plus it's
hard to say "I was alta vistaing last night" or "after
three hours spent exciting, I found...". The latter
will probably cause some eyebrows to raise, I'd think
(if everyone else's mind is as dirty as mine is). At
the very least, one has to ask, exciting what?
