Nu weddifan in yn di nustr farch phiscar.
We go.past.1p in one of our boat fish.inf
Here the verb piscar, to fish, is used as a adjective and takes an initial
mutation to mark it as plural.
Subr lla farch sa'r yn deg +on
On the.f boat there_were a ten men
ke goninewefant iaethar llo llin in lla for.
REL continue.past.3p throw.inf the.p net in the.f sea
Ll+a ys thraefant llo llin intr, ke sunt gwenid di bluin ddlo
Then they pull.past.3p the.p net inside REL are come.pp of full of_the

Ill of ke denef ill umrsul di dad sufflaf yn gwent a
the.m man REL hold.past.s the.m shade_sun of dad blow.past.s a wind at
nu,
us
Most Chomro would find this very odd behaviour. It's hard to suggest what
would be stranger to them: a man using a sun umbrella; or needing someone
to hold it for him. 'GOS ES-TY! Translating it straight is easier than
trying to find an analogy (the man who held dad's briefcase, perhaps)
mai llo h-+on iaethafant llo llin h-afant negyn
but the.p men (who) throw.past.3p the.p net have.past.3p no_one
ffager-a per lle
do.inf-that for them.indirect

cool them hit.past.s
Mai ll+a yn nefol n+ir affaraf,
but then a cloud black appear.past.s
addyn ys thraefant llo llin intr seint ddlo phisc,
