| There is. [s_d] is a Russian /s/ which is NOT alveolar. Russian
speakers
| perceive English and Spanish /s/ [s] as smth closer to [S]. On the

Basque also distinguishes dental /s[/ from alveolar /s/, as Tamil does
for /n[/ and /n/.
